Hey, hello, hi, and howdy.
Sometimes, we must subject ourselves to the horror of not just being perceived, but being known. It’s awful! It is, however, a necessary evil for some of us.
But being known can also be…kind of nice. Don’t tell anyone I said that. I’ll deny it if pressed.
So I figured I’d let y’all know me. A bit. The important* stuff at least.
(*none of this is important)
So, hi. I’m Simone. I wrote a Formula 1 sports romance novel called CROSS THE LINE that comes out May 23rd from Pan Macmillan and July 23rd from Berkley (still waiting on that pre-order link, I’m so sorry). It will also be releasing in Brazil and a handful of other countries that I’m not sure if I’m allowed to talk about yet, so I won’t because I don’t want to get yelled at.
Here’s a selection of random things to know about me that maybe we can bond over. Or not! It’s cool either way!!
I think astrology is fun! I love being told things about myself and making comments like, “Oh, she’s a Gemini? No wonder I like her!” even though I don’t even know what it all means. I’m just here for a good time!
If you couldn’t tell, I just love a map. Even got a couple of degrees related to them! But let it be known that I will fight the Mercator projection in hand to hand combat and also I will cry if you ask me to do work relating to land cover classification ever again.
I was also a ghost writer for a bit. Or, really, a ghost story-outliner. A ghost idea-generator? Still not sure if I can fully describe my old job without getting sued but we’ll leave it here for now (until I write a tell-all book) (just kidding) (or am I?).
Look. Okay. Just…hear me out. Hear me out!!!
I love drama. I love mess! I love characters who make absolutely wild choices. And I love when those choices lead to even wilder storylines. You know how some people giggle and kick their feet whenever there are cute, fluffy moments in romance novels? That’s me when characters make messes for themselves. Catch me over here egging them on. “Well, go on then! Make the mess!”
However, I will NOT tolerate general silliness. If those characters make me say, “Well now you’re just being silly” then I don’t want it.
I grew up watching this Not An Actual Genre, even though I was *definitely* too young to be watching some of them. Don’t tell my parents. But these are my go-to movies that I’ve seen dozens of times. I’ll pop any of these on in the background while I get work done.
I’ve always wanted to write something similar to these movies, so maybe one day I’ll get around to it!
This pretty much sums me (and all the things going on in my head) up. It’s chaos here, but I hope this explains a little bit more about me and why my books are *gestures vaguely* the way they are.
What a mess!
All my love,
Simone
